Southern Poverty Law Center Releases Video on White Supremacist Gangs

 The Southern Poverty Law Center has produced a 15-minute video on white supremacist prison gangs which it is distributing to police and corrections departments across the country. Understanding the Threat: Aryan Prison Gangs starts with an analysis of the murder of Colorado prison chief Tom Clements and goes on to evaluate the threat posed to corrections staff and police officers.

The center will send out the video to more than 60,000 police officers– free of charge – along with the law enforcement edition of the SPLC’s quarterly investigative journal, Intelligence Report.

The SPLC is also sending the video to prison officials in all 50 states. Law enforcement and prison agencies can obtain additional free copies of the DVD by contacting the SPLC.

“Members of white supremacist prison gangs pose a very serious threat to correctional officers,” said SPLC chief investigator and former homicide detective  Joe Roy, in a statement. “And because violent gang members also are active outside prison walls, they’re a danger to law enforcement officers on the streets.”
