Washington State University Vancouver provides quality education to the residents of Southwest Washington and the Portland metropolitan area. With a student population of 3,000, WSU Vancouver offers a small-college atmosphere with public university access. The beautiful 351-acre campus is located just 10 miles north of Portland up I-5 or I-205.
WSU Vancouver delivers personalized education that enhances the intellectual, creative and practical abilities of its students. The university currently offers 18 bachelor's degrees, 10 master's degrees and more than 37 fields of study.
Bachelor's degrees are offered in anthropology, biology, business administration, computer science, digital technology and culture, education, electrical engineering, English, environmental science, history, human development, humanities, mechanical engineering, nursing, psychology, public affairs, social sciences and sociology.
Master's degree offerings include accounting (MACC), business administration (MBA), computer science (MS), education (EdM), environmental science (MS), history (MA), mechanical engineering (MS), nursing (MN), public affairs (MPA), and teaching (MIT).
WSU Vancouver also offers a doctorate degree in education (Ed.D.).
WSU Vancouver is a premier research university. More than 130 doctoral teaching scholars work side-by-side with graduate and undergraduate students in computer, engineering, multimedia, nursing, psychology and science laboratories. Together they conduct research of regional, national and international impact—fuelling economic growth and development in our region.
The WSU Vancouver campus features a bookstore, cafeteria, student commons, student services center, study hall areas, art galleries, a sports court, fitness center and a system of biking and pedestrian trails. The library is stocked with more than 30,000 books, access to more than 100 databases, 9,000 full-text online journals, and extensive web connections that make it a personal gateway to worldwide research materials.
Student life centers around a variety of activities, including an active student government and nearly 50 registered student organizations that make it easy for students to connect with others who share their passion. Weekend snowboarding, skiing and rock climbing trips, and intramural sports offer balance to academic pursuits.
Roughly 75 percent of WSU Vancouver's student population takes advantage of some form of scholarship or financial aid to help finance their education.
