Mlk Hip Hop Event Needs Performers, Artists, Volunteers

On Friday January 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be an MLK Youth Hip Hop event at Garfield Community Center. The Seattle King County NAACP is looking for artists to be in the show.
Historically, says Ashley Dunn, membership chair of the Seattle NAACP, the Hip Hop Event was geared towards a younger generation to allow them to participate in the celebration -- especially planning. Seattle's Young People's Project (SYPP) has been the group to put on previous shows, however this year they are unable to do so.
Dunn is looking to get anyone 25 and younger to perform and help plan the event. So far, they really need help finding performers to dance, sing, rap or anything else hip hop oriented. Dunn asks that all performers do something in relation to MLK.
There are also plans to hold a fashion show, step show, dancers and artists to decorate the center. The DJ performing will be DJ Charma, age 24. Dunn is also 24.
