Monsters of Hip Hop, an all Hip Hop dance convention tour will stops in Portland at the Red Lion on the River on Nov. 7-8.

In its seventh year of bringing dancers together with some of the industry's most respected choreographers, this two-day event will feature intense master classes, auditions, freestyle battles, and an industry career seminar.
Recent Monsters' successes include Portland's own Montana Efaw, assistant to various choreographers on "So You Think You Can Dance," and recent performer for Lady Gaga at the Video Music Awards.
Monsters of Hip Hop is open to dancers from ages 6 to adult and features 6-8 of the world's top choreographers who teach intensive and exciting master classes. Although the final faculty assignments will not be available until a week before the event, scheduled to teach in Portland are Phi from the Jabbawockees (winners of Season 1 of "America's Best Dance Crew") Kevin Maher (New Kids On The Block, Britney Spears), and Tabitha & Napoleon Dumo ("So You Think You Can Dance").
Striving to bring Hip Hop dancers together with the industry's top dance professionals in an environment that fosters self-fulfillment and career development, Monsters of Hip Hop has been a growing event ever since the beginning.
Started by Andy and Becky Funk along with Becky's sister, Angie, the three developed the unique concept for Monsters of Hip Hop based on the sisters' background growing up dancing competitively and Andy's experience in business and marketing.
While Monsters has grown tremendously, the company always strives to maintain the family environment on which it was built.
