(CNN) -- While "American Idol" fans are still waiting to see what will become of those Nick Jonas rumors, on Monday came yet another name to add to the "potential new 'Idol' judge" list: Nicki Minaj.
The fiery rapper is said to be in talks for a judging position on Fox's singing competition, although neither the network nor Minaj's reps had a comment on the reports.
According to Us Weekly, Minaj's deal isn't done, but inside sources claim that she's "definitely" headed for the judges' table. Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter suggested that Minaj was among a number of potential celebrities being considered, including Enrique Iglesias and Keith Urban.
Mariah Carey, meanwhile, is one person who is for sure joining the next season of "Idol," as she announced her judging position in July.
Longtime judge Randy Jackson remains an unknown factor, as there's been speculation that he'll step back for a mentoring role.
Either way, Minaj herself is keeping quiet. On her Twitter account Monday, the 29-year-old promised a "surprise" for her fans, but it turned out to be an image of the bottle - a sort of self-portrait of the hip-hop star, complete with her "signature pink bob" - and the name of her new fragrance, Pink Friday.
The scent is expected to arrive in September, Minaj said on Twitter Tuesday, telling a curious follower that the new perfume smells "like angels playing."
CNN's Jane Caffrey and Denise Quan contributed to this report.
