Portland Police officers have arrested 20-year-old Christopher Jordan after discovering a short-barrel shotgun in the trunk of the car. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an illegal weapon and possession of cocaine.
Police arrested Jordan at 7:45 p.m. Thursday Aug. 9, after stopping his car at North Kilpatrick Street and Dwight Avenue, based on information that he might be transporting a short-barrel shotgun.
Also arrested at the scene was 29-year-old Terrence Williams, who had an outstanding parole violation. The third occupant of the car, 25-year-old Erica Williams, was released.
Officer found a short-barrel shotgun that also has a .22 caliber long rifle barrel, in the trunk.
Police say Jordan and Terrence Williams are both documented gang members.
The case has been referred to the U.S. Attorney's Office for possible Federal prosecution, as part of Mayor Adams' crackdown on illegal guns.
